our seventh daughter

I don't talk numbers often, so it's easy for me not to really think about having eleven kids...I just don't get caught up in the count. I couldn't help but smile though as I heard John mention several times over the last week how blessed he felt (and perhaps overwhelmed to think about) having "seven daughters." It was sweet, and humbling the way he mentioned it.
I smiled though, and thought to myself "Wow that's a lot of girls " when I caught this picture of him with his girls one of our first evenings home with little Anne...

On the topic of many girls...this was bound to happen sooner or later, right? Big sisters were home from school today, so they gave little Anne a "spa" treatment. Bath, lotion, and pedicure.

Uhhhh save your pennies for bras, tampons and mini's, prom dresses, hair accessories, countless prs of shoes, jewelry, on and on..teenage girls require tons of extra stuff, oh yeah and raging hormones
HAVE FUN.....;-)

I LOVE the little painted toe nails! I only have 1 girl and the rest boys, so any chance I get to do something girly (regardless of age), I go for it! Looks like positive sister bonding to me!

That's what sister's do...no matter what the age. I'm sure Anne will have her fair share of new hairstyles, make up and clothes put on her, in the name of fashion and the name of fun. Girls will be girls.

A pedi for Anne is a wonderful statement about your family. Obviously the girls are loving having another sister, they could HATE her, ignore her, or worse. Congratulations to John and Jamie for nurturing a house of love!!

I happen to LOVE the toenail polish...I used to do that to my baby girls when they were little, too. She's obviously loved by her sisters!

Is that even safe to paint a newborn's toe nails?

I love the toes!!! And to quote Thumper's mother ~ If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all!!

I'd say it's perfectly fine...she's not putting those little toesies in her mouth already, is she? ;)

P.S. I also agree with Thumpers mother!!!

When I started reading these comments, I was thinking what Thumper's mother said too! And I looked it up online and all I read was that it's a problem only if they put their toes in their mouth...

OK, for the record, I didn't disagree with you! I had to comment to set the record straight!!! Love you Jamie, you know that!

I guess I figured if you should not paint your nails or color your hair during the first trimester of pregnancy that the same would hold true for a newborn..it really has nothing to do with bonding with siblings or anything else.
Chemcials..blood stream etc etc..
I am just relaying the guidlines my ped gave to me..
each to their own... and everyone is entitled to their opinion
Anne is real doll baby .. have fun with her..
